Seputeh DAP members and I checking out MCA’s land grab booty.

I have known for a long time thes premises of the MCA Overseas Union Gardens is squatting on state land but I did not protest as it did not create problems to the public.

The premises were used as a kindergarten in the day and serve as a place for residents to practise kungfu and few other activities in the evening.

But now that I am aware the MCA OUG has dodgy plans after delaying moves to abandon the place to facilitate the widening of Jalan Awan Besar which will be connected to Kesas Highway, it becomes my obligation to protest and make public what’s happening.

MCA and UMNO are sama-sama as they are the usual culprits that always violate the law and misuse their power to occupy state land. I was told that Tai Chai Ho, the chairman of MCA Federal Territory went to the site and instructed the workers to move the container, in which the MCA OUG office is located, to the site near to the little Datuk Gong Taoist shrine which was situated further away the site as they plan to take over the neighbouring land. This means the mamak store next to the MCA squatters have to give way too.

This is too much! The squatters now want to expand the boundary after giving way to the road expansion project. How can we agree to that? I was told that the KL City Hall officers don’t agree with that either, but now a deputy minister of MCA is throwing his weight behind the illegal use of state land, they find it hard to say no to him.

The problem with the squatters’ expansion plan is that it will aggravate the problem of shortage of parking space during Sunday morning when many do their marketing as well as during the night market’s trading hours.

When Dr Sua Chong Kei, the present MCA Seputeh Chairman and the former candidate was interviewed by the Chinese media, he said the MCA just wanted to beautify the surroundings and he accused me of politicking. Beautify the area? That’s like having two big pimples on your nose and saying that’s prettier than having none. This is daylight robbery of prime state land, no ifs, no buts.

I was questioned by a special branch office after the news came out in Chinese paper. This guy called and asked me about the issue. He wanted to know why the MCA people told him different story. He was ignorant about the issue and that of the Seputeh UMNO which I brought up last month. I was a bit surprised a clueless officer was assigned to investigate these two issues. Perhaps the police should make me a consultant on land grab by governing parties :-)

Tan Chai Ho asked the road expansion workers to shift this container to the “Datuk Gong” area.

  1. ms kok, i think as usual we can make all the noise we want in every medium other than the mainstream media, and as usual nothing will get done about it and mca will get their way again.

however, i do commend you for doing this as you are little by little pulling away voter by voter from them. this requires a lot of effort and resilience on your part and so far you have not wavered.

  2. The chieftain of MCA and his henchmen do not practise what they preach.
Pretending to help the residents, so that people will vote for them, they used state land to set up illegal kindergarten and invited unsuspecting residents to do kungfu there.
And acting in collusion with UMNO, they will grab the land and kick the squatters out and tell the residents “Trespassers will be prosecuted”.
HaHa, make the surroundings beautiful, my foot!
More likely to enrich chieftain & his henchmen.
So residents, please don’t be duped.
Support Teresa to fight these greedy people.
