in my view : it is people like teera & bji who blame the women when they get raped! both of u 'been missing the point from the beginning.....this isn't about their dressing but the attitude of the police personnel and the abuse of power in the force...Come on, folks! i am generally a practising muslim..I have yet to start wearing tudung but I know I will some day, InsyaAllah..I have friends and relatives who dress daringly..but they don't kacau people i.e. they don't flirt with men, don't go after people's boyfriend or husband, they pray, they don't drink alcohol...unlike some people i know...they may or may not wear tudung, project a "macam malaikat" image but are really the opposite!!
How ever Wan Nurizan decides to raise her children, perhaps it is best for the elders in her family or her tok guru to advise her. That's not to say no one else can do it at all but just the typical Malay (man & woman alike) just do not realise they can never seem to do it right..always menghukum not menasihat...menghina/mencerca not membimbing...menakut-nakutkan not me-motivate....
OK, back to the main issue :Just think for a sec'...if you are a police personnel and nak carry out anti-vice operation for the day...u go to the well known haunts la..e.g just down the road in Petaling St. kan ada..(my hubby pointed out to me the other day just so I don't go get myself tersesat jalan there)....dressing provocatively, thick make-up but if u just minding ur own biz, not like soliciting client...how does the police justify ingat u pelacur??!
U police, u could be police tipu also...we show IC u just cabut with it! so, just courteously introduce yourself and flash ur ID...tell us which balai u r from...
Then, if u do body search don't humiliate oranglah...also how will we know if the tudung lady is not a pervert who gets her thrills from all the meraba??!! I will not put it pass the woman...u can never b too careful these days!
As a police personnel , a Muslim and a Malay lagi tu...supposed to be beradab and halus bahasa ...so keep ur remarks to urself (this just illustrates my point on the menghina istead of membimbing kan)...u can't tell how much worse ur daughter or son will turn out to be later..remember what goes around comes around ya..!
if u have made such a remark just apologise...and I don't get this stick by ur brothers/sisters no matter how in the wrong they are...bodohnya!
How can u suka-suka hati arrest people and take to balai , kurung in lokap...
I hope the ladies will not be deterred from seeking justice by some of the comments made about them and their dressing...if going to the police don't help ur case...i say, go to the media....

the police should arrest all those who manufacture or sell provocative women clothing..there should be a dress code for all muslim women to wear the burqa for covering their modesty like muslim countryies do..

lee wee tak sums it up in such a sweet manner.
the comments just paints the picture.its precisely a non religous issue here..i just feel that people dont tend to judge a person by appearence but merely make assumptions base on their appearence.
to actually know and understand a person requires more than just eye contact..i dont want to steer away from this topic.
not now.

Teera,

Are you saying that there is something wrong with all single mothers?

Are you saying that by wearing spaghetti strap and jeans, it is a sure fire criteria that the woman wearing it is morally decay? If that is the case, you have found the solution to the moral problem of the world – let’s ban spaghetti strap, camisole, miniskirt and we will all be Shirley Temples.

Are you saying that the Police are empowered to arrest all muslim women who dress more casually?

To resolve the ambiguity of muslim women dressing, why not take a leaf from China and Chairman Mao? In 1950, he designed a uniform for the whole of China so all citizen dress up the same way. So perhaps Jabatan Islam can come up with a uniform for all muslim women so that there will be no more trouble and the police are able to focus their resources to catch snatch thief, robbers, murders and VCD peddlers.

What are the “grave issues” that Teresa should look at? Longkang sesat di Seputeh? Itu kerja MPPJ, kan? She is racially challenged as she cannot differentiate between Chinese and Malay and Indians and non-earthlings when she put out her time and energy.

I am not a muslim but I respect all women, muslim or otherwise by what they do, speak and behave, not too much by what she wears. I don’t need a religion to teach me to respect fellow human being. I may disagree with what you and Bji write here but I still think you are entitle to air your views. Perhaps in my infidel and narrow mind I can only see a courageous woman defending her right, dignity and daughters.

Bji,

Just because they are frustrated, Police, as a “badan berdisiplin” must control their emotion. We all take shit in our work, who doesn’t? So just because my boss DID me up in the office I CAN GO HOME AND KICK MY DOG, CALL MY WIFE A BITCH AND LABEL MY NEIGHBOUR A BASTARD? NO!

Look at riot police in the picket line. They get insulted, taunted and spat upon but still have to maintain patience unless order is given to take further action. They are supposed to maintain emotional control. On that occasion, was the police woman provoked? NO! Maybe she had a fight at home with her husband so she took out on a bystander whom she does not like? A police force is subject to A HIGHER LEVEL OF SELF CONTROL AND DISCIPLINE, otherwise they may become armed and statutory thugs.

I think you are calling us to understand the police better. Well we do appreciate hard working, courteous and helpful police who embrace their motto, “sedia berkhidmat”
Of course we do.

We are talking about the conduct of a police force suppose to protect all Malaysian tax payer. Please do not bring a religious isolationist point of view. We are dealing with a non-religious issue here.

To khorkhor,no doubt there are malay muslims who dress even more arousing. Wan Nurizah's outfits are nothing compared to some you see at night clubs or discos around the city. She happened to be at a wrong place, at a wrong time. Whatever, how she dressed is never in the Islamic dress code. So, like i said, for non-practising Muslim, regardless of races, this is not the forum. I challenge Wan Nurizah get protection from Syariah Court. If she dare, that is.And to Wan Nurizah, try and look around. There are many non-Muslims out there who dress more decent than you. Just dont let your children get obsessed with such clothing. People tend to judge who you are from their first impression, no matter how good or clean you are.that's a fact.
