BERNAMA

  1. the one who is looking for cheap publicity is you. all sane humans know that this naked earsquat act brings disgrace to Malaysia regardless whether the person doing it is a Malaysian or not. Teresa brought disgrace to the country? oh plz. if she didn’t brought it up, someone would. it’s just a matter of time and the time is now.

some politicians are just too thick skin to admit that they are wrong, instead they would twist it to make it looks like they are right. for political sake, they would say anything, even if it’s wrong. you make me sick!

Policemen guard the safety of citizens, but who will guard the policemen?

  3. First they agree with Teresa (and with deep disgust) when they viewed the video that it was a shocking incident. In a matter of days, they turned around and “whacked” her, accusing her of bringing shame to the country and what have you. I hope many years from (sooner the better) when these bunch of turncoats become just another ordinary citizen, by some bad luck apprehended by the police for some misdemenour and then made to do the ear squat. Then they will utter these words, “I wish I had supported Teresa all the way then this would not have happened to me.”

  5. My question is this: what’s wrong with questioning the credibility of our police? Do we live in a totalitarian state?
Dayang Mahani says that the police have done nothing wrong – isn’t this a premature conclusion when the independent inquiry is still going on?
However, is the SOP of naked ear-squat really acceptable? Has Dayang Mahani read the Royal Commission’s report?

  6. I think the incident should not be considered as being brought disgrace to Malaysia. It is a matter of fact. It is something does really happened, regardless the reason behind of it. What is more important is the need to know whether this act (doing ear squat in nude) is appropriate, eventhough the police claim that is a “normal practice”, but why is it never been stated in any standard legitimate procedure? Does it means the police can carry out whatever procedue they think is ok for them, regardless of the law?

The other thing is the recording of the video clip, how can this be happened in a police station? by a policeman?? and then spread it to the public?????

The whole incident is telling us something must went wrong, are you still sure that our poilcemen are capable enough to safeguard us? This claim is not made right after the incident, it is from the experience, reports, news, etc…there are so much negative images about our policemen which have been created by themself, not given by the public, throughout the years!

Of course I am not praising the act to expose the video clip as well. It does bring shame to Malaysia. But I will spread it and let other know if I have received it, Why? Because it is something did happen. We should not just cover that and assume nothing has happened. I don’t agree with the idea to investigate and settle the issue quietly. It was all so-called the “peace-loving method”. From the experience, most of these cases will just be ended nowhere, and the similar cases happen and happen again… How to improve ourself and gain respect from others? We should handle the sensitive issues more tranparence. Especially for our policemen, if they wish to gain back their reputation.

  7. I read with disgust the comment made by Jimmie Cho.What Teresa did was right. She is not seeking cheap publicity but those BN MPs are.She is merely doing her duty as a MP to expose those wrongdoing by the police force in the lock-up.And she is doing it without fear or favour unlike Michael Chong who quitely try to hide it from the public. We should all give her full support for her courage and do you realise that she have to face the negative implication by exposing this police abuse in the lock-up.So,Teresa don’t feel dishearten by the stupid comment made by some individual. All right thinking citizen knows that you are doing the right thing.Keep up the good work.We always stand by you.

  8. Teresa questioning the credibility of the police? I thought that was already tarnished long time ago. Teresa just provide concrete visual proof.. else the police will just cover up and said that no such thing happened!!

Now since this is exposed, police is diverting our attention on who took the video, instead of admitting that their so called SOP violates the woman’s right.

  9. What puzzles me is the the low intelligence exhibited by senators and editors in our country. Every single issue is given a racial slant, to put the opposition in bad light. How is that they are unable to differentiate between human rights and race.
DAP’s record is there for all to see. The party has stood up for injustice regardless of race. LGE wento jail defending a Malay girl when UMNO was in deep slumber. How can this country ever progress with such people around in strategic places. They can make a difference but they won’t.

  10. I fully agree with Tony’s posting that DAP had stood by Malaysians of all races in their moments of distress. Besides the LGE’s case in Malacca, I believe I have posted this somewhere before but nonetheless would like to mention it here again. Many years back there was this shooting incident in Kg Kerinchi which involved a Malay boy and two policemen. There was a chase and eventually the boy was shot dead. Instead of approaching the UMNO wakil rakyat for help to lodge a police report, the kampong folks went all the way to Bukit Bintang to seek the help of Lee Lam Thye. LLT in his usual self, straight away decided to look into the plight of these people. The next day, there appeared in the Malay Mail front page, a banner photo showing LLT walking towards the police station, a solitary figure in white in the centre with the whole kampoung behind him. That was a sight to behold. So the question is, why didn’t the kampong folks approach their own wakil rakyat? For fear of a cover up? And if DAP have been truly a racist party, why would LLT help these people? He could have insisted that they go back to their own wakil rakyat, but he didn’t. If one were to observe the modus operandi of DAP all through the years, one can easily see that they are a party for all people despite having been called a Chinese chauvinistic party in the 60s and 70s. On the other hand look at parties like UMNO, MCA and MIC, they are more chauvinistic in their outlook then anybody else. At least DAP has an Indian as head of the party. What has UMNO, MCA and MIC have to prove? As for the turncoat Senators, they are just looking for cheap publicity to see who draws the first blood and from whom, LKS or TK. These are the people with kampong mentality, wearing blinkers and possess tunnel vision-like minds. I am glad LKS said he welcomed the hearing and was prepared to meet these blokes head on. I am just wondering whether these senators know what they are getting into. By confronting LKS, they would appear to be not a protector of the Malay race since the victim is a Malay and it will do LKS and TK good because they would then be seen as championing the victim’s rights. What irony?

  13. The woman was taken on drug issues, and it is known for ages that some female users and trafickers hide the drugs in their vagina. Ketuk ketambi will eject the drugs hidden if there are any. I thought most people know this already? I suppose if the video taken was of the woman spread-eagled with someone’s fingers in her vagina that would cause less havoc? Now, before any of you say that she could be taken to a doctor, several truckloads of women at the government hospital would not help the overcrowding there any.
